DE: Brühl -(rmm) Die Kirche St. Stephan an der Rheinstraße wirkt aufgrund ihrer grauen Betonarchitektur zunächst nicht besonders einladend, wie viele Bauwerke des berühmten Architekten Gottfried Böhm, der in diesem Jahr seinen 100. Geburtstag feiert. Aber in diesem Kirchenbau und dessen zeitgenössischer Architektur ist viel mehr verborgen, als es der Augenschein vermuten lässt. Die Kirche schickt ihre Besucher auf eine spirituelle Abenteuerreise und genau davon handelt das neu erschienene Buch „SCHRITTE in die Kirche – zu Gott – in den Alltag“. Auf knapp 100 Seiten führt der 76 jährige Brühler Autor Rudolf Horn die Leser durch „sprechende Räume“ und macht sie mit der „Symbolik der Steine bekannt“. Die Leser entdecken neben vielen interessanten Details vor allem Räume für sich selbst und können neue Erfahrungen machen. Sein Wissen hat der Religionspädagoge Horn in jahrelanger Auseinandersetzung mit dem Raum und der Beschäftigung mit den Aufzeichnungen und Berichten der Gründergeneration erlangt. Das Buch ist mit zahlreichen Fotografien des Brühler Fotografen Dirk Morla bebildert und lädt in seinem modernen Erscheinungsbild dazu ein, die Kirche zu besuchen und mit dem Buch in der Hand neu zu entdecken. Die Gelegenheit dazu bietet sich täglich von 10-18 Uhr.
Der Autor, stellt das Buch am 12. und 27. Dezember, jeweils um 16 Uhr mit einer kurzen Kirchenführung in der Kirche St. Stephan vor. Anmeldungen dazu sind ab sofort in der Buchhandlung Brockmann möglich. Dort und im Pastoralbüro der Katholischen Kirche in Brühl ist das Buch für 14,90 Euro zu haben.
EN: Brühl - (rmm) Due to its gray concrete architecture, the church of St. Stephan at Rheinstrasse does not look particularly inviting at first, like many buildings by the famous architect Gottfried Böhm, who is turning his 100th birthday this year. But there is much more hidden in this church building and its contemporary architecture than meets the eye. The church sends its visitors on a spiritual adventure journey and this is exactly what the newly published book "STEPS into the Church - to God - into everyday life" is about. On almost 100 pages, the 76 year old author Rudolf Horn guides readers through “speaking rooms” and introduces them to “the symbolism of stones”. In addition to many interesting details, readers discover spaces for themselves and can gain new experiences. The religious educator Horn acquired his knowledge through years of dealing with space and studying the records and reports of the founding generation. The book is illustrated with numerous photographs by the Brühl photographer Dirk Morla and, with its modern appearance, invites you to visit the church and rediscover it with the book in hand. The opportunity to do this is available daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The author will present the book on December 12th and 27th, each time at 4 p.m. with a short guided tour of the church of St. Stephan. Registrations are now possible in the Brockmann bookstore. The book is available there and in the pastoral office of the Catholic Church in Brühl for 14.90 euros.
