"Saint-Hubert was the name of an abbey and its patron saint. The hamlet of Andage saw the construction of the first abbey in the year 687. At the beginning of the 9th century, the body of Saint-Hubert, former bishop of Tongeren and founder of the city of Liège, was transported to the monastery of Andage, which took the name of Saint-Hubert Abbey.

Over time Andage remained a small village of notables, a satellite menu of the great Saint-Hubert Abbey, which has undoubtedly become the most important Benedictine abbey in Europe. In the end, the abbey was named Saint-Hubert by all.

At the end of the 18th century, Saint-Hubert Abbey was emptied of its possessions and the monks were driven out by the revolutionaries. Since then, the town of Saint-Hubert has expanded as a result of industrial expansion, and the present town centre is anchored in and around the former Saint-Hubert Abbey.

The renovation work on the Cour d'Honneur undertaken over the last decade has returned the district to its original appearance.

The former abbey complex currently houses the State Archives Service and the Service de Diffusion des Affaires Culturelles de la Province."
