Louis Armstrong was an American trumpeter, composer, vocalist, and actor who was among the most influential figures in jazz and blues. His career spanned five decades, from the 1920s to the 1960s. Armstrong's recordings of St. Louis Blues and West End Blues are in the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 2017, he was posthumously inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame.

Many of the statues here are by sculptor Ivan Schwartz. You can read more about the artwork in National Harbor at this link.
