On April 19, 1995, the Murray Federal Building in Oklahoma City was destroyed by a terrorist bomb; 168 were killed and hundreds injured. First United Methodist Church, directly across the street from the building, was badly damaged as well. This small street-side chapel, with an altar constructed from the damaged stone steps of the church, was constructed through the efforts of Christians, Jews, and Muslims in Oklahoma City. You will find it directly across the street from the east side of the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial, constructed on the site of the former Murray Building.
