Hancock Visitor Center-The Historic Bowles House-Built in the 1780's this farm house witnessed the arrival of the C&O Canal in the mid-1830s. The outhouse is about 50 yards from the main house.

Hancock Visitor Center-The Historic Bowles House-Built in the 1780's this farm house witnessed the arrival of the C&O Canal in the mid-1830s. Located at the east side of Hancock, the house residents catered to canawlers who pass through Lock 52 and the Tonoloway Aqueduct, selling goods and produce to the boat captains and crews.
