Museu dos Transportes Urbanos de Coimbra - Coimbra, Portugal - Railroad Museums on Waymarking.com

Despite the name foreseeing a more ambitious project, this museum is limited to exhibiting a series of trams that were preserved after its decommissioning in Coimbra, which took place in 1980. Two years later this museum opened to the public.

The museum is close to the Mondego bank, being easily reached on foot from the city center. You can also reach it by going down the Botanical Garden to the river and leaving there. It is installed in a building dated 1909 that is a good example of Coimbra's industrial architecture from the beginning of the 20th century.

Here you will find the testimony of 69 years of using trams in the city of Coimbra.
