Coimbra is a historical town, home of the 6th oldest university in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. All of this is depicted in this set of representations in blue tiles, showing the paramount locations of the town.
The author is A. Matias and the production of the actual tiles was from the Fábrica Viúva de Lamego (ceramics factory). They were created between 1983 and 1985 and placed on the wall fencing a high school.
This is the list of locals depicted in this mural: Universidade, Igreja de Santa Cruz, Sé Velha, arco de Almedina, Palácio Sobre Ribas, Mosteiro de Celas, Sé Nova, Museu Machado de Castro, Convento de Santo António dos Olivais, Sé Nova, Jardim da Sereia, Aqueduto de São Sebastião, Igreja de Santiago, Mosteiro de Santa Clara-a-Velha and Torre do Anto.
Overall it's a beautiful mural offering plenty of detail on all its segments.
