Stenen står på gårdspladsen foran sydfløjen af slottet der blev bygget fra 1590-1600.
Efter en kort periode i privat eje fra 1673 til 1679 overgik slottet til kongehuset i 1679 og Fredrik VII var den sidste kongelige ejer af slottet. Ved enevældens ophør i 1848 overgik slottet til staten.
In front of the beautiful Jægerspris Castle this upping stone is situated. The stone was used by the King when he wanted to go fro a ride. It is octagonal and made by granite.

The stone is situated at the courtyard in front of the southern wing of the castle built from 1590-1600.
Despite a short periode from 1673 til 1679 the castle was on royal ownership. King Fredrick VII was the last king to own the castle before until it was ceded to the Danish state in 1848 in connection with the adoption of the Danish Constitution.
