Toen de gemeentelijke fusie Veghel, Schijndel en Sint Oedenrode een feit was en er in de afdeling Boxtel-Liempde bestuurlijke opvolgingsproblemen bleken te bestaan is na intensief overleg met alle partijen besloten om een nieuwe afdeling van het Rode Kruis het licht te laten zien met de naam: afdeling Meierijstad+Boxtel+Boekel van het Nederlandse Rode Kruis, afgekort afd. MBB van het NRK. In januari 2017 is deze afdeling officieel van start gegaan.
De voormalige Afdeling Veghel e.o. van het Nederlandse Rode Kruis is in 1945 na het beëindigen van de Tweede Wereldoorlog opgericht. Met “omstreken” werden de kerkdorpen bedoeld, bijvoorbeeld de gemeente Boekel. Rond dezelfde tijd zagen ook de voormalige afdelingen Boxtel-Liempde en Sint-Oedenrode het licht.
Sinds de fusie van de afdeling Veghel e.o. met de afdelingen Sint-Oedenrode en Boxtel-Liempde per 1 januari 2017 bedienen we een groot werkgebied. Dit bestaat uit de gemeenten Meierijstad, Boxtel, Boekel en een gedeelte van de gemeente Bernheze.

When the municipal merger of Veghel, Schijndel and Sint Oedenrode was a fact and there appeared to be administrative succession problems in the Boxtel-Liempde department, it was after intensive consultation with all parties that it was decided to launch a new department of the Red Cross with the name : Meierijstad + Boxtel + Boekel department of the Dutch Red Cross, abbreviated department MBB of the NRK. This department was officially launched in January 2017.
The former Department of Veghel e.o. of the Dutch Red Cross was founded in 1945 after the end of the Second World War. By "surroundings" were meant the church villages, for example the municipality of Boekel. Around the same time, the former Boxtel-Liempde and Sint-Oedenrode departments also saw the light.
Since the merger of the Veghel e.o. with the Sint-Oedenrode and Boxtel-Liempde departments from 1 January 2017, we serve a large working area. This consists of the municipalities of Meierijstad, Boxtel, Boekel and part of the municipality of Bernheze.
