Lund University is one of Northern Europe's oldest universities and was officially founded in 1666.
Lund University has eight faculties, with additional campuses in the cities of Malmö and Helsingborg, with 40,000 students. Lund University is consistently ranked among the world's top 100 universities.

The main building of the Lund University was designed by architect Helgo Zettervall and inaugurated by King Oscar II in 1882. Construction began in 1874, when the old main building Kungshuset had become too small for the growing number of students.
