This is a Virtual Geocache: GC4B61
that I visited on 2006-05-17 and had the following observations and questions:
Like others before me, e.g. steveluscher 2005-03-12, or GoGayleGo 2004-12-26, I was puzzled by the nearby plaque on the building that documents a set of coordinates, which obviously don't refer to WGS-84 coordinates. If they were interpreted as WGS-84 coordinates the point would be 2.6 km away.
I looked around for other coordinate reference system but couldn't find one that comes close.
Please post or email me if you figure out what the reference system is?
Additional info: the plaque mentions Captain Owen in 1836 and the fact that the Global Coordinates Marker became Bermuda Law on 1929-11-08.
