Nyborgs byport Landporten måler 40 meter og er den længste i Danmark. Den blev bygget i 1666 på opfordring af kong Frederik III og var i 200 år den eneste vej ind i Nyborg. Byen blev beskyttet af voldgrave, broer og volde. Kl. 9.45 hver aften blev der ringet med kirkeklokkerne for at huske borgerne på, at porten ville blive lukket kl. 22, og denne skik med at ringe med klokkerne bevares den dag i dag.




Measuring 40 metres, Nyborgs Town Gate is the longest in Denmark. It was built in 1666 at the behest of King Frederik III, and for 200 years was the only way into Nyborg. It was protected by moats, bridges and ramparts. At 9.45 each evening the church bells warned the citizens that the Town Gate would be closed at 10 p.m., and this custom of ringing the bells is preserved to this very day.
