De witgepleisterde theekoepel is rond 1850 gebouwd door Constantia Ernestine Theodora Staring, jongste dochter van de dichter A.C.W. Staring. Zij liet de koepel bouwen met bouwmateriaal van het afgebroken herenhuis Het Draafsel, dat ook in haar bezit was. De koepel staat op een hoger gelegen stuk grond langs het riviertje de Berkel. Het kleine vertrek waar de thee werd gedronken, ligt op de eerste verdieping. Zo konden Constantia en haar vriendinnen genieten van de rust en van een fraai uitzicht. Constantia stierf in 1893 en het koepeltje raakte ernstig in verval.
Gelukkig is de koepel in 2004 in ere hersteld en voor publiek opengesteld. Het koepeltje is alleen te bereiken via een voetveer, waarmee je jezelf naar de overkant van de Berkel kunt trekken. Binnen is een kleine tentoonstelling over het verleden van de theekoepel.

The white plastered tea dome was built around 1850 by Constantia Ernestine Theodora Staring, youngest daughter of the poet A.C.W. Staring. She had the dome built with building materials from the demolished mansion Het Draafsel, which was also in her possession. The dome is located on a higher piece of land along the Berkel river. The small room where the tea was taken is on the first floor. This way Constantia and her friends could enjoy the peace and a beautiful view. Constantia died in 1893 and the dome fell into serious disrepair.
Fortunately, the dome was restored in 2004 and opened to the public. The dome can only be reached via a foot spring, with which you can pull yourself to the other side of the Berkel. Inside is a small exhibition about the tea dome's past.
