An unusually large Chestnut Oak located on the edge of Battery Kemble National Park.

This Chestnut oak is not only large, it is the largest in the country. Typically, these trees only grow to about 60-70 feet in height, however this one has gone almost 40 feet past that. The tree is also easily identified with its large 5 trunks, which come from one root ball.
