The use of the energy contained in the wind through its conversion into mechanical energy has been carried out by humanity since the most remote antiquity. With the exception of energy of animal origin, it can be said that, together with the energy obtained from watercourses, the energy of the wind was the oldest natural energy resource in the history of civilizations. Until the 9th century it is not possible to find an irrefutable historical document in which the use of windmills as a general practice is mentioned. This document is the Book of Mechanical Wits, by the Banu Musa brothers, dated in 850. In Miño they have a very special wind located in the Parma de Bemantes, one of those giants that appear in our most universal book, Don Quixote de la Mancha. Boucelo's mill is heir, of those that appeared in Persia in the 17th century and arrived in Europe in the 10th century. In Galicia there were more than 120 windmills, more than half of them in the province of A Coruña. In the Comarca das Mariñas they were scarce, so this has special significance. By the reference collected by Begoña Bas (1991), the mill belonged to Don Francisco Vázquez, who had been at the same time its builder, a very skilled man, who had made many devices for the house, and who moved to make the mill to the Windmill of Meirás (Sada) and made a model; When checking that the model worked, he raised his mill. On the door facing the nascent is an inscription engraved on the lintel, which gives us the date and the name of its builder: "THIS WORK DID IT BY VAZQEZ VAZQVEZ YEAR OF 1840".

Si se exceptúa la energía de origen animal, cabe decir que, junto con la energía obtenida de los cursos de agua, la energía del viento fue el recurso energético natural más antiguo en la historia de las civilizaciones. Hasta el siglo IX no es posible encontrar un documento histórico irrefutable en el que se haga mención al uso de los molinos de viento como práctica generalizada. Este documento es el Libro de Ingenios Mecánicos, de los hermanos Banu Musa, datado en el año 850.

En Miño tienen uno de viento muy particular situado en la Parroquia de Bemantes, uno de esos gigantes que aparecen en nuestro libro más universal, Don Quijote de la Mancha. El molino de Boucelo es heredero, de los que aparecieron en Persia en el S.VII y llegaron a Europa en el S.X. En Galicia llegó a haber más de 120 molinos de viento, más de la mitad de ellos en la provincia de A Coruña. En la Comarca das Mariñas fueron escasos, por lo que este tiene especial significación.

Por la referencia recogida por Begoña Bas (1991), el molino pertenecía a don Francisco Vázquez, que había sido al mismo tiempo su constructor, un hombre muy habilidoso, que había hecho muchos ingenios para la casa, y que para hacer el molino se desplazó al Molino de Viento de Meirás (Sada) e hizo una maqueta; al comprobar que la maqueta funcionaba, irguió su molino.

En la puerta orientada hacia el naciente se encuentra una inscripción grabada en el dintel, que nos proporciona la fecha y el nombre de su constructor: “ESTA OBRA LA HIZO VAZQEZ VAZQVEZ AÑO DE 1840”.
