Dorpspomp - Benschop, the Netherlands - Hand Operated Water Pumps on Waymarking.com

The old centre of Benschop is situated around a square. This square in front of the Dutch reformed church used to be a practise area for the watchmen or a tourney area (rhcrijnstreek.nl). I myself did a joust with my bike around the square when I was a child. In the middle of the square a hand-operated pump is present, the Dorpspomp. It has a handle on the left side to get some water. The pump itself is mostly made out of bricks and a few stone elements. The pump isn't active anymore.
