De Barbaratoren is het restant van de afgebroken kapel van het Sint-Barbaragasthuis op de hoek van de Kuiperstraat en de Keizerstraat in de Nederlandse stad Gouda.
Het Barbaragasthuis is in 1468 gebouwd door het Sint-Barbaragilde. In 1505 bouwde het gilde bij het gasthuis een kapel. De heilige Barbara was een van de veertien zogenaamde noodhelpers. Zij werd met name te hulp geroepen als beschermster tegen de pest. In de 16e eeuw deden gasthuis en kapel ook dienst als armenschool. Na de hervorming werd de kapel in 1581 door het stadsbestuur verkocht. In 1690 werden er op de plaats van het schip drie woningen gebouwd. Een ander deel van de kapel diende in die tijd als paardestal.
Van de kapel en van het gasthuis bestaan nog slechts bouwresten in de woningen op de hoek van de Keizerstraat en de Kuiperstraat. De Barbaratoren is van buitenaf het enige zichtbare overblijfsel van het oorspronkelijke complex. In 1859 waren de steunberen en een gotisch venster van de kapel nog zichtbaar in het straatbeeld.
De torenklok bezit slechts één wijzer, die de tijd aangeeft. De bijnaam Malletoren zou hieraan te danken zijn. Oorspronkelijk was dit de klok van de afgebroken Dijkspoort. Anderen wijzen echter op de overlevering, dat door een defect in het uurwerk de klok bleef slaan en dat de toren daarom zijn bijnaam verkreeg.
De klok zelf was afkomstig uit de Noodgodskapel, maar werd in de Tweede Wereldoorlog geroofd door de Duitsers. De toren is in 1988 gerestaureerd.

The Barbaratoren is the remainder of the demolished chapel of the Sint-Barbaragasthuis on the corner of Kuiperstraat and Keizerstraat in the Dutch city of Gouda.
The Barbaragasthuis was built in 1468 by the Saint Barbara guild. In 1505 the guild built a chapel at the guesthouse. Saint Barbara was one of the fourteen so-called emergency helpers. In particular, she was called to the rescue as a protector against the plague. In the 16th century, the guesthouse and chapel also served as a school for the poor. After the reform, the chapel was sold by the city council in 1581. In 1690, three houses were built on the site of the ship. At that time, another part of the chapel served as a horse stable.
Only remains of the chapel and the guest house remain in the houses on the corner of Keizerstraat and Kuiperstraat. From the outside, the Barbaratoren is the only visible remnant of the original complex. In 1859 the buttresses and a gothic window of the chapel were still visible in the street scene.
The tower clock has only one hand, which indicates the time. The nickname Malletoren is said to be due to this. Originally this was the clock of the demolished Dijkspoort. Others point to the tradition, however, that due to a defect in the clock, the clock kept ringing and that the tower therefore obtained its nickname.
The clock itself came from the Noodgodskapel, but was robbed by the Germans in World War II. The tower was restored in 1988.
