Op zondag 19 mei vond de officiële opening plaats van het nieuwe skatepark in het stadspark De Motten in Tongeren.Het skatepark werd aangelegd in een kuipvorm met een oppervlakte van 1.450 m² , uitgevoerd in hoogwaardig beton en met diverse hoogteverschillen. Het skatepark ligt grotendeels op de voormalige ligweide van het zwembad op de Motten. Het park zal niet alleen geschikt zijn voor skaters, maar ook inliners, BMX'ers en steppers zullen zich door de grote keuze in moeilijkheidsgraad thuisvoelen in het nieuwe park
