As well as monocular, further back there is a topograph in local slate showing what the view is. Using the topograph you can further your appreciation of the view.

A popular place. On street and car parks nearby.

There is warning on the 'telescope'. DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN. Without a mirror this will be very difficult, as rotation of pedestal is limited to 180 degrees, from West to East through North. Bowness is in Northern hemisphere, therefore sun is behind you. You can not turn lens to face south. This will also stop users spying into hotel rooms and at people.

Supplier Owl Telescopes, Cheshire. No serial number is visible.
Cost to Operate: 20 pence coin only

Primary Vista: Boats on Windermere lake, Belle Island, Fairfield fells

Number of devices at the site: 1

Other Vistas at the location:
To the left (west) Claife Heights, partially obscured by tree covered Belle Island. Ahead the east shore of lake. To right (east) Kentmere and Troutbeck fells.
