Hotel Reijerink has been located at this location since 1932, next to the Groenlo-Lichtenvoorde train station. A few years ago the hotel was taken over from the original owners and completely redesigned. In addition to hotel and restaurant, it is now also a party location. The design is most reminiscent of an old goods station with a loading platform in front.
There is a very special pickup truck in front of this loading platform.
It is a Barkas V-901, from the former Deutsche Democratic Republik. Year of construction is probably 1963.
The truck has a 3-cylinder 2-stroke engine of 1,000 cc and a capacity of 36 hp. The load capacity at that time was with 1,000 kg high.
The Barkas company existed until 1987 and builded about 150.000 cars. There were plans to built new cars with Volkswagen but due to a lack of money none was built.
