Made by the American Bell Foundry this bell was used from the 1890's until the late 1960's to call kids to their studies. Originally the bell hung in the tower of the Crapper School that was built in 1893. When the original school was torn down the bell was transfered to the new Oak Grove School. It rang there for 58 years until the school was torn down in 1968. The bell was donated in 1980 to the Hood River County Historical Museum.
