"Louis Guillaume est un écrivain et poète français.
Il passe son enfance à Bréhat puis devient enseignant à Paris et passe sa retraite à Biarritz.
Louis Guillaume naît à Paris le 18 décembre 1907. Le 25 décembre 1907 il arrive à Bréhat. Jusqu’en 1914 il vit dans cette île bretonne la plus heureuse partie de son enfance chez sa grand-mère maternelle : le souvenir de cette enfance perdue est la première source de sa poésie.
Jeune instituteur (Créteil) puis professeur de lettres (Charenton) et directeur de collège (Paris), il publie son premier recueil dès 1928 : Sônes d’Armor. D’un premier mariage naît en 1931 son fils Yves. En 1935, il rencontre Marthe qui devint sa compagne et son inspiratrice. Il commence alors son Journal (entièrement inédit : 47 cahiers) qu’il tient régulièrement, sans un jour d’interruption, jusqu’à sa mort.
Il ne publie que très peu pendant l’Occupation. Il poursuit sa carrière d’enseignant." (visit link)

He spent his childhood in Bréhat then became a teacher in Paris and spent his retirement in Biarritz.
Louis Guillaume was born in Paris on December 18, 1907. On December 25, 1907 he arrived in Bréhat. Until 1914 he lived on this Breton island the happiest part of his childhood with his maternal grandmother: the memory of this lost childhood is the first source of his poetry.
Young teacher (Créteil) then professor of letters (Charenton) and director of college (Paris), he published his first collection in 1928: Sônes d'Armor. His first son Yves was born in 1931. In 1935, he met Marthe who became his companion and inspiration. He then began his Journal (completely unpublished: 47 notebooks) which he kept regularly, without a day of interruption, until his death.
