Otto von Guericke (ursprüngliche Otto Gericke) (* 20. November 1602 in Magdeburg; † 11. Mai 1686 in Hamburg) war ein deutscher Politiker, Jurist, Physiker und Erfinder. Bekannt ist er vor allem für seine Experimente zum Luftdruck mit den Magdeburger Halbkugeln.
Guericke ist der Überrest eines Mondeinschlagkraters im nördlichen Teil des Mare Nubium. Sein Durchmesser beträgt 60,75 Kilometer, seine Tiefe 0,7 Kilometer. Im Nord-Nordwesten liegt der große Krater Fra Mauro, zusammen mit den miteinander verbundenen Kratern Parry und Bonpland, im Osten liegen die Krater Kundt und Davy. Der Krater wurde 1935 von der IAU offiziell nach Otto von Guericke benannt.

He is best known for his experiments on air pressure with the Magdeburg hemispheres.
Guericke is the remnant of a lunar impact crater at the north part of the Mare Nubium. Its diameter is 60.75 kilometres, its depth 0.7 kilometres. To the north-northwest lies the large Fra Mauro crater, along with the co-joined craters Parry and Bonpland, to the east are the craters Kundt and Davy. The crater was officially named after Otto von Guericke by the IAU in 1935.
