This bell was dedicated in 2000 to Marty Gentili,the founder of the local group, PAVE, that assists parents of special needs kids and helps them develop education plans with their child's teachers.
The bell is painted and shows children playing. It can be rung by moving the large handle on the right side of the photograph. My son demonstrated this repeatedly. :)
It is located along the Tacoma waterfront, a favorite place for walking and picnicking. Be sure to check out the nearby permanently drydocked "Fireboat No. 1" - a national registered landmark.
