Just north of the Depoe Bay Bridge along the sea wall that runs the length of downtown you can visit the newest State Park in Oregon. The
WHALE WATCHING CENTER has a large anchor on display to the right of the entrance doors in an outdoor terrace. This is a perfect spot for photos. No plaque or additional information is provided for this anchor. If you know its history please include it in your visit notes.
Depoe Bay is considered to be "The Smallest Navigable Harbor in the World". It has about 6 square acres of harbor space for moorage of about 137 boats. The harbor entrance is 30 feet across with a depth of approximately 8 feet.
