Die Hansestadt Havelberg ist eine Stadt und ein staatlich anerkannter Erholungsort im Landkreis Stendal in Sachsen-Anhalt.
Die Stadt, deren historisches Zentrum sich auf einer Insel in der Havel befindet, liegt im äußersten Nordosten des Bundeslandes Sachsen-Anhalt an der Havel kurz vor ihrer Mündung in die Elbe. Im Norden und Osten grenzt die Gemarkung Havelberg an die drei brandenburgischen Landkreise Prignitz, Ostprignitz-Ruppin und Havelland.

Der Havelberger Dom Sankt Marien ist eine evangelische Kirche in der Hansestadt Havelberg in Sachsen-Anhalt. Er war Hauptkirche des Bistums Havelberg. Das Bistum Havelberg selbst ist eine Gründung von König Otto I. aus dem Jahr 946 oder 948. Im Rahmen der Deutschen Ostsiedlung wurde es zur Missionierung der ortsansässigen Westslawen gegründet. Havelberg war neben Brandenburg das früheste Bistum östlich der Elbe.

Havelberg St. Marys cathedral
The cathedral and former precincts complete with 12th to 15th century cloisters, chapter room, kitchen and dormitory, attest to more than 1000 years of turbulent history in the region. Nothing has survived of the first Ottonian cathedral. The second cathedral building (1150-1170), however, can still be seen today. Havelberg cathedral still has much of its rich mediaeval ornamentation. One of its earliest works is the triumphal cross group, which dates from about 1270-1280. Parts of the choir stalls and three sandstone candlesticks are only slightly later. The church?s most precious adornment is the rood screen, richly decorated with figures, which dates from the late 14th/early 15th century and depicts a detailed account of the Passion cycle. Some of the mediaeval glasswork has also survived. The history of the diocese of Havelberg and its cathedral can be traced back to the 13th century by virtue of the many tombs.

Hanzovní mesto Havelberg je mesto v okrese Stendal, v Sasku-Anhaltsku, Nemecko. Leží na Havelu a cást mesta je postavena na ostrove uprostred reky. Obe cásti byly zacleneny jako mesto v roce 1875.

Havelberger Dom Sankt Marien je evangelický kostel v hanzovním meste Havelberg v Sasku-Anhaltsku. Byl to hlavní kostel havelberské diecéze. Samotné Havelbergovo biskupství založil král Otto I v letech 946 nebo 948. Jako soucást nemeckého východního osídlení bylo založeno, aby sloužilo místním západním Slovanum. Vedle Brandenburgu byl Havelberg nejstarším biskupským východem od Labe.
