The park is installed at the exit of the town of Fontenay-le-Comte on a former military training ground that the Army sold to the City. The Solairedirect project dates from 2009. Le parc est installé à la sortie de la ville de Fontenay-le-Comte sur un ancien terrain de manœuvres militaire que l'Armée a vendu à la Ville. Le projet de Solairedirect date de 2009. Elle avait choisi cette vaste friche (plus de 12 hectares) pour son inclinaison sud sud-est. Mais, les travaux n'ont démarré qu'en janvier 2016 et ont été arrêtés pendant plus de quatre mois.
