Coca-Cola Carbon County
In the center of the small town, a red brick wall is covered with the advertisement "Coca-Cola". The Coca-Cola story is an amazing one. Originally created by a pharmacist in 1886, it was named for its primary ingredients - coca leaves and kola nuts. Over the decades, it has remained a top selling drink, now marketed in over 200 countries, with a daily serving usage of 1.8 billion servings. Wow! Little history of the corner: During Prohibition, the Lehrkind family diverted their energies to the growing soft-drink business. The family got a contract with Coca-Cola in 1914 and Carl Lehrkind, Julius grandson, had a one-story bottling plant constructed across the street from the brewery.
