The Orange County North Carolina Solid Waste Department offers four, 24-hour drop-off sites for recycling. This is the Cedar Falls Park location at 501 Weaver Dairy Road in Chapel Hill. A carved wood sign hangs on a stockade fence with the name in English and Spanish in orange block letters -- "RECYCLING SITE - LUGAR PARA RECICLAJE - ORANGE COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT" -- against a gray background to easily identify the spot.

The collection containers are in two groups to your left as you enter the park's parking lot: A series of three long blue single stream dumpsters for mixed items is to the north and a set of seven smaller green dumpster cubes to collect cardboard are arranged west to east just south of the fenced in area. Abundant space surrounds the dumpsters which allows people to drive right up alongside the containers. Also, a covered magazine rack is mounted inside the north end of the fence to share recent readable periodicals.

Information about their locations, restrictions, and single stream recycling can be found here.
