National Geographic lists Atlantis Books in Oia as one of the top, must see, bookstores in the world - a "hermit cave of a bookstore". It was opened in 2004 in the tourist area of Oia. Its located amid shops along the main pedestrian near the post office.

Despite its unusual location in a small private house overlooking the caldera, they pride themselves in their ability to carry a huge selection of literary classics and many newer titles.
