Last summer, several of the traffic utility boxes in downtown Rapid City were wrapped in amazing, original artwork by local artists. A walking tour to see these displays is definitely recommended. In the meantime, we’ve compiled a list of the art and artists responsible for enhancing our lives in this unique way and where you can find their traffic box location so you can see for yourself.
A unique technology created by the Clean Slate Group covers vinyl with an anti-graffiti and durable clear covering that allows the art that was printed onto the vinyl to last up to a decade. Destination Rapid City and the Rapid City Arts Council utilized a Bush Foundation grant to fund the project.(Journal of Rapid City)
