[DE] Im Siebenjährigen Krieg (1756 bis 1763) kämpften Preußen und Großbritannien/Kurhannover auf der einen und die kaiserliche österreichische Habsburgermonarchie mit Frankreich, Russland und dem Heiligen Römischen Reich auf der anderen Seite.

Im Kamperbruch fand am 16.10.1760 eine blutige Schlacht statt. Preußen und Franzosen standen sich gegenüber. 1168 Tote auf beiden Seiten waren zu beklagen.

Aus diesem Anlaß wurde am 18.10.1985 ein Gedenkstein in einem kleinen Waldgebiet, dem sogenannten Franzosenwäldchen, aufgestellt. Es ist das Gebiet zwischen Neuendickstraße und der Kegelsporthalle in Kamp-Lintfort. Die Inschrift lautet: „Im Siebenjährigen Krieg schlugen hier am 16.10.1760 Franzosen und Preußen eine blutige Schlacht. Der Krieg brachte Not und Elend über die Bevölkerung.“

In Kamperbruch on 16.10.1760 a bloody battle took place. Prussians and French faced each other. 1168 deaths on both sides were to be lamented.

For this reason, a memorial stone was erected on 18.10.1985 in a small forest area, the so-called French grove. The inscription reads (translated):"During the Seven Years' War, on October 16, 1760, French and Prussians fought a bloody battle. The war brought misery and misery to the population."
