Forsyth is located in a valley along the banks of the Yellowstone River. There is plenty of fishing, agate hunting or just plain walking on the dike that runs the length of town. For those who would rather have a more active day there is swimming in the Olympic size pool, biking or running. Forsyth has a very nice public golf course on the outskirts of town.
Located just off the Interstate and has two gas stations with restaurants and fast food eateries. For those who wish to stay and enjoy the area, they have five motels. They are a good stopping place prior to visiting Big Horn Battlefield, continuing on to Yellowstone or Glacier Park, Black Hills National Forest, Big Horn National Forest, or even heading north toward Fort Peck Reservoir. Like history? Visit the Courthouse, make a walk through town, visit main street and see the buildings built in the l800's, and visit the museum. They have many extra ordinary buildings that are still in use.
