The present parish church was built between 1875 and 1903, replacing the church of St. Peter, located market square (currently Peyramale Square), church attended by Bernadette Soubirous and was destroyed by fire in 1904. It contains remnants of the story of Bernadette Soubirous: the baptismal font above which she was baptized on January 9, 1844 and the tomb of Bishop Peyramale, parish priest of Lourdes at the time of the Apparitions.

L'église paroissiale actuelle a été construite entre 1875 et 1903, en remplacement de l’église Saint-Pierre, située place du marché (actuellement place Peyramale), église que fréquenta Bernadette Soubirous et qui fut détruite par un incendie en 1904. Elle renferme des vestiges de l’histoire de Bernadette Soubirous : les fonts baptismaux au-dessus desquels elle fut baptisée le 9 janvier 1844 et le tombeau de Mgr Peyramale, curé de Lourdes à l’époque des Apparitions.
