Rose garden for rare rose varieties in Labenz, a municipality in the Duchy of Lauenburg.
The l´âge bleu Rosenpark is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Schleswig-Holstein, the Duchy of Lauenburg. Between the villages of Sandesneben and Labenz, this refuge for rare rose varieties extends over approx. 8,000 m2 of Bioland land directly on the L 92.
In the concept of the still young facility (the first roses were planted in April 2007) there are some special features:
A total of 90 per cent of the rose planting areas are reserved for particularly rare varieties, which in cooperation with the Lost Beauties e. V. association are redistributed from here and thus saved from extinction. These precious rarities include the 170 particularly rare tea hybrids and Pernetianas that came from Sangerhausen via Lost Beauties e. V. as backup copies.
Also find roses from the region and all over the world are waiting for their identification by rose experts at l´âge bleu Rosenpark.The number of rose varieties already planted is continuously increasing. Meanwhile there are already about 1500, partly represented by several plants.
