"Millacher Lajos budai szikvízgyáros végrendeletileg 20.000.- forintot hagyott Buda városára, hogy halála után emlékkutat emeljenek, melyen arcképe látható és neve 'Lajos-kút' legyen. A végrendelet szerint pályázatot kellett kiírni. A pályázatot háromszor írták ki, végül Holló Barnabás tervét fogadták el. Kúttalapzat mészko, 425 cm, bronz szoborcsoport 265 cm. Tömör komellvéddel körülvett háromkaréjos medence egy-egy vízköpovel, középen hatszögu pillér, három oldalán kisebb medencékkel, egyik oldalán az adományozó arcképével. Tetején pogány magyar vitéz ivótülkébol iszik, lábainál kutya iszik. A tülkébol ivó vadász vállán lott szarvas.
Felirat: 'MILLACHER Lajos emelte hálából Budapest fovárosnak.'"

EN (Translation):
Lajos Millacher, a soda-water maker in Buda, left a fortune to the town of Buda to build a memorial well after his death, showing his portrait and his name as 'Lajos Fountain'. According to the will, a tender had to be launched. The competition was announced three times and finally Barnabás Holló's plan was accepted. Fountain foundation limestone, 425 cm, bronze statue group 265 cm. Surrounded by a solid stone guard, the three-legged pool has a gargoyle, a hexagonal pillar in the center, smaller pools on three sides, and the donor's face on one side. At the top he drinks from the drinking booth of a pagan Hungarian warrior, and at the feet he drinks a dog. A deer shot on the shoulder of a hunter drinking from the booth.
Inscription: 'Lajos MILLACHER lifted his gratitude to the capital of Budapest.'
