"Mein Lokal, dein Lokal" (My restaurant, your restaurant) is a documentary soap on the German private TV station Kabel Eins that has been running since 2013. It is a competition with test lunches between five local owners/employees. Five restaurants take part in a "mini-season" over one broadcasting week, which are visited in turn by their competitors to inspect the guest rooms and the kitchen facilities, possibly also the bar and the range of drinks, as well as the evening test meal. Afterwards, the four invited hosts secretly assess their hosts with a score of 1 to 10 points.
In April 2019 the West African restaurant "Papaye" took part in the competition. It is primarily famous for the grilled fish in Hamburg.
The restaurant "Papaye" in Hamburg-Dulsberg offers authentic African cuisine. In a simple interior on 10-12m² with only 23 seats the restaurant offers a very private environment. If you don't like this, you can take advantage of the shop's practical delivery service. In contrast, the menu is extensive with approx. 75 dishes. The varied African-West African cuisine with European influences offers a lot of fish, meat, rice, banana and yam root.
