Samarkand is the second largest city in Uzbekistan and also one of the most touristic places in the whole Central Asia. Its train station is therefore important, carrying locals and foreigners seeking the wonders of the town, which is UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The station is a bit off the center but there are plenty of buses and trams heading to the historical core of the town.
Pleasant station, very clean and functional, with basic shops and helpful staff.
