The Siebleber pond is an artificial reservoir in a depression (Siebleber depression) a few hundred metres north of the Seeberg near Gotha, between the villages Siebleben in the northwest, Tüttleben in the northeast and Seebergen in the southeast. It lies at a height of about 275 m and has a depth of about 1.50 m.
In September 1717 it was decreed that the pond on its eastern side, the deepest point where an artificial drain was also built, had to have a minimum depth of 0.28 cm in winter so that the fish could survive. As it turned out later, this was not enough. In addition, two drainage channels were to be constructed from strong logs. The channel in the middle of the east embankment is the former and present drain.
The small hand sluice regulates the pond discharge in the direction of the Roth, a tributary of the Apfelstädt in Thuringia.
