Seeberger sandstone is a sandstone of the Upper Keuper (Rätkeuper) and is assigned to the riddle sandstones. Its occurrence lies at the Großen Seeberg near Gotha in Thuringia south of Wandersleben. Its name is derived from the Seeberg. Currently (2017) there are two quarries in operation, the "Kammerbruch" (chamber quarry), which was already active in historical times, and the new "Güntherslebener Bruch".
This sandstone was mainly used for bricks, facade tiles, garden design and as small paving stones.
