It is available 24/7, and a poster on the wall gives the following basic instructions.

MANSFIELD BOULDERING WALL
"Welcome to the Mansfield Bouldering Wall. This is a free community facility. To ensure its longevity and safety of users, please follow the guidelines and instructions outlined below.

HOW TO USE THE WALL !?!
"Follow the colours.
"The objective is to follow a coloured route from one edge of a wall to the other. If one colour alone is too difficult then try combining two or more colours at a time.

"Handhold are coloured based on difficulty.

BEGINNER = GREEN
INTERMEDIATE = BLUE
ADVANCED = BLACK

"Where to start? Climbing can start anywhere but users must be courteous towards other climbers. Eg, if someone is already on the wall then climb in the same direction.

What gear do you need?
"To safely climb the wall we strongly recommend you have: Climbing shoes, chalk and a bouldering mat. If you are new to bouldering or climbing and don't have any specialist gear you can still enjoy bouldering. Just wear some unrestrictive sports clothes and running shoes. Bare feet or open toed shoes are not recommended.

* Always use a spotter *
"Have a friend 'spot' you while you climb. Spotting is not catching; the spotter's purpose is to keep the climber's body upright during a fall by giving the shoulders a light push, to ensure that they land on their feet. A spotter's hands should be behind the climber's shoulders, with fingers pointing outwards. Do not have your fingers pointing upwards towards the ceiling, as you could injure your own hands during the climber's fall."

* Restrictions of use *
- Users under the age of 12 must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times.
- Users should be competent and have an appropriate fitness level for climbing.
- Be respectful of other users and maintain etiquette (Give way to climbers on the wall. If someone is already climbing, be sure to wait until they've passed the section of wall you wish to use before starting to climb.)
- Be aware of other climbers around you and keep the spotting area free while the wall is in use.
- Only use during daylight hours and stay off the wall during adverse weather conditions.
- Do not climb on top of the wall.
- Remove any loose items from clothing prior to climbing.
