The stone is easily missed having walked past it, equally reading was a little hard through age and lichen growth.
As a consequence the first few letters were not totally clear but, I believed them to be HHT.
I have endeavoured to research this stone further, however, I have not been able to gain any further information.
My theory for this stone Is:-
The Location of the stone sits on a hill prominently behind the growing city of Plymouth and the Naval dockyard Devonport. At that time there were no navigational markers and that the hill with its adjacent chimney would have could have been used for navigational purposes.
Location: West Devon
