[FR] "Le Ouen Toro est une colline située à l'extrême sud de la péninsule de Nouméa. Elle culmine à 128 mètres et s'étend sur 63 hectares. Sur son domaine s'étend un parc naturel, le "Parc municipal du Ouen Toro - Albert Etuvé et Lucien Audet".D’une superficie de plus de 60 ha, le parc municipal du Ouen-Toro a été créé en 1989. Il appartient à la Ville de Nouméa qui en assure l’entretien courant. Officiellement inauguré le 20 mai 2011, il porte le nom de deux hommes – Albert Etuvé et Lucien Audet – qui ont mis à son service leur amour de la nature, afin de sauvegarder son patrimoine exceptionnel.
Préservé des engins motorisés, il est le paradis des promeneurs et des joggers auxquels plusieurs sentiers bien balisés sont proposés. Les amateurs de parapente ont également élu domicile sur un mamelon du parc, d’où ils décollent au-dessus du lagon lorsque le vent est favorable.
Classé en aire protégée par le code de l’environnement provincial, le Parc du Ouen-Toro fait l’objet d’un plan de gestion et de valorisation. Celui-ci prévoit la conservation et la restauration de la biodiversité de ses milieux naturels, la lutte contre les menaces, ou encore l’information et la sensibilisation des habitants aux enjeux environnementaux.

[EN]" Ouen Toro is a hill located at the extreme south of the Nouméa peninsula. It rises to 420 feet and covers 63 hectares. On its domain extends a natural park, the "Ouen Toro Municipal Park - Albert Etuvé and Lucien Audet".
With an area of ??more than 60 ha, Ouen-Toro municipal park was created in 1989. It belongs to the City of Nouméa who provides the regular maintenance. Officially inaugurated on May 20, 2011, it bears the name of two men - Albert Etuvé and Lucien Audet - who put at their service their love of nature, in order to safeguard its exceptional heritage.
Preserved motorized vehicles, it is a paradise for walkers and joggers to which several well-marked trails are proposed. Paragliding enthusiasts also take up residence on a nipple of the park, from where they take off over the lagoon when the wind is favorable.
Classified as a protected area under the provincial environmental code, the Ouen-Toro Park is subject to a management and recovery plan. It provides for the conservation and restoration of the biodiversity of its natural environments, the fight against threats, or the information and awareness of residents about environmental issues.
