The Sinkhole located west of Exeter Missouri has created quite a stir.
OZARKS UNDERGROUND
The sinkhole continues to expand, drawing spectators from throughout Barry County. It is approaching a width of 100 feet and is approximately 200 feet long and over 150 feet deep. The depth of the sinkhole is uncertain, but is known to be in excess of 150 feet.
Reports show this as less but I was there for the tests and helped in the examination.
Sinkholes often occur in the Ozarks where limestone bedrock is deeply weathered and contains numerous caves. Sinkholes are formed as soils collapse into the caves and are washed through the voids in the underlying bedrock.
