Until 2001, Wilmersdorf was one of Berlin's burrows. In 2001, it merged with the burrow Charlottenburg, but it maintains the city partnerships it entered as an independent burrow.

A signpost in front of the Wilmersdorf town hall shows all twelve partnerships with regions or cities in Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Ukraine, Poland, Croatia, England and Israel.

The individual signs display the sister city's name, its coat of arms and the flag of its country.

The directions on the signpost are fictional, for example, the signs for the two partner-districts in Bavaria (that are in the same direction) point to opposite directions.

The burrow's Website has descriptions of all sister cities in German language.

Twin Cities / Sister Cities:
Minden, Germany - Apeldoorn, Netherlands - Gagny, France - Gladsaxe, Denmark - Kiew-Petschersk, Ukraine - Meseritz, Poland - Split, Croatia - Sutton, England - Karmiel, Israel, District Rheingau-Taunus, Germany - District Forchheim, Germany - District Kulmbach, Germany
