Transcribed from the Architectural Award is the following:
GENERAL
This plaque was presented to the Church on 20.9.97 by the locacl chapter of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects as the Annual Canberra Award for 'Excellence in Design' for buildings 25 years old in the category 'Community Buildings'. The design architect, Ken Woolley, symbolised some our basic beliefs in the exterior and interior design.

EXTERIOR
The high blank wall facing Gould Street minimises any competition with the adjacent Lutheran Church, provides 'light from above' and directs people in McLeay Street. Viewed from there, the building mirrors on a larger scale half the Church Hall. As in baptism, the building itself rises up out of the water in the pool, and each person entering walks in below the waterlevel in the pool.

INTERIOR
The ourity of our doctrines is shown by the white walls and also symbolise the white robe of Christ's righteousness. He earned this robe for us by His life, culminating in His death for us at Calvary. The shape of the pulpit symbolises that Cross, and is as solid as a rock: 'The Rock of Ages'. Accepting Christ as Saviour is shown by baptism by immersion and the architect emphasised that ritual by the prominent baptismal structure with its tubular skylight above.
The sun shining in the pool provides a moving reflection on the sloping ceiling. Which reminds us to be moving reflectors of the Son of God to those around us.
The building was Dedicated on 27.11.71 and the first baptism of 16 people was in December 1972.
