My Mission is to spread the awareness of motorcycles on the road and hopefully prevent a motorcycle related accident by spreading this awareness through the travels of this geocoin.~

I am a Bikedog Geocoin, I was made in memory of Bikedog after he left us, for us to remember his journeys and appreciate what we still have. The shape and design of this coin is labeled after his trackable "smashed penny" that he put into caches mostly in the Southern California Area...This time I was released unfortunatley Tod of the Cachestalkers team was tragically killed in a Motorcycle accident and he is dearly missed by his family and his geo-Buds. This geocoin and race is to remember Tod and help spread the awareness of Motorcycles on the road.

*** In 2006 There were 4816 Motorcyclists killed and 88,000 injured.
***Motorcyclists make up more than 3% of all registered vehicles in US! Yet we have a 11% fatality rate and a 13% occupant injury rate!
***We are about 40% more likely to die in a vehicle related accident and 8 times more likely to be injured!!
***51% of all motorcycle fatalities occured with another type of motor vehicle and of those 51%, 79% were struck in the front! 40% of those were as a result of a driver turning Left in front of the motorcycle!!!
***Many statistics effect the fatality rate such as unlicsensed drivers, new licsensed drivers, unhelmeted and alcohol.

***Bottom line is we are out there on 2 wheels, we are harder to see, smaller and generally quite. You as I know how hard it can be to see us out there and all it will take is one incident to end a life! THINK and LOOK while your out there driving and always keep us in your mind as the numbers of us on 2 wheels is growing each and every day.
