About This Item

Pushed on its way

This magnetic spinning top of a UFO was picked up in the 'Mars' cache in Connecticut. It flew west with me to Las Vegas where it was released. Hopefully it will travel the universe to seek out adventures where no man (or cat) has gone before.

This would be a great launch point, but there is more to see yet for you!

This was the last of tonight's cold, DC-at-night virtual cache adventure. As with all the previous caches, it was just too cold to take off gloves and pull out the all the TBs for photographic purposes. Nonetheless, they were here, safe and warmer than I, while I visited this statue of Albert Einstein. This may well be the last of the cache visits before we head to Arizona and warmer weather!

No nighttime visit to this end of the Mall is complete without a trip to the Vietnam Memorial. Again, due to the cold and the time of night, it was just me and the TBs. This Memorial doesn't photograph well at night, but it's a very powerful place to be.

Onward, in the dark and the cold, to this cache we went. This island, in a pond near the World War II Memorial and Lincoln Monument, honors all the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Stone blocks bear the signature, name, profession, and hometown of each signer. The pond surrounding the island was packed full of geese (only their white backsides and chests visible in the night) who chatted back and forth the whole time we (my pack of TBs and I) were there.

Continuing on the cold night adventure, my pack of TBs and I carried on to stop by the Korean War Memorial. It's pretty eerie here at night.

I thought this TB should see some D.C. sights before heading off to Arizona. The Lincoln Memorial is lovely at night!

We ran into this little road block together; thought I'd post a photo.

  • Hmmmm. Think we could flying saucer our way across?

I couldn't resist grabbing this TB since I've got a trip planned. I'm heading to Arizona in a few weeks, so it's back to the Southwest for you, little bug!
