This TB is being re-posted with a Russian rifle shell casing, as the original TB was listed as lost.
Would like to try and catch up with my TB friend - 9mm - or visit other shooting ranges.
This TB is being replaced with a Russian rifle shell and re-posted to gain new travels using the COPY tag as of 6/2010........
Original was a Colt .45 shell casing. My big brother in the photo is .50cal. He is a really big guy, and has been around... He is staying at home, while I'm out Geocaching. Maybe some day he too will come out to play...............
I am now calling on my Russian friend to travel around in my place. Along with the Mosin Nagant rifle a new "small caliber" rifle cartridge was adopted by Russia known as the Three Line (7.62mm) Rifle Cartridge, Model of the Year 1891. Later known as the 7.62mm x 54R, it utilized the relatively new smokeless powder. The revolutions of 1917 lead to the end of production at St. Petersburg in 1918 and the equipment and workers were used to begin the plants at Simbirsk in 1919 and Podalsk in 1920. These rifle cartridges were produced for WW I, WW II, and well into the 1990's and 2000.
