God skattejagt :-)
This is a serie of 50 Cystic Fibrosis Awareness TB´s which the Danish geocacher Jobelaja has handed over to other geocachers in order to inform about the multi-organ disease cystic fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. Further it affects the digestive system such as liver, pancrease and bowels.
Patients with cystic fibrosis patients gets large amounts of medical treatment everyday through their entire lives, such as daily pulmonary treatment to reduce mucus in their lungs, pancreatic enzymes as the pancrease often are unable to produce digestive enzymes, antibiotics to kill infections in the lungs and a number of patients further have to deal with diabetes so insulin is a daily part of the medication.
Patients with cystic fibrosis are often situated at the hospital for intravenous antibiotic treatment and/or other medical treatments connected to the disease.
Lung and liver transplants often becomes an issue when the organs are so heavily damaged that the patient life quality gets too poor.
This is just a brief description of the disease. You can learn much more on www.cff.org
